In the matter of education, we are hovering round the truth: that education is not merely a preparation for life, but the work of the lifetime. And, given this much insight, is it conceivable that the education in question is no more than the cramming of a few textbooks? Like religion, education is nothing or it is everything — a consuming fire in the bones.
Ambleside Southern Africa trains teachers, parents, and educational leaders in the Ambleside Method, a comprehensive philosophy and practice of education based on the teachings of British educator, Charlotte Mason.
Ambleside's educational training accomplishes two goals: it provides vision of what education can be and it equips participants with the knowledge and tools that allow them to make Charlotte Mason’s vision a reality in their schools and homes. Many participants credit Ambleside training with transforming their lives both personally and professionally.
During each training session, Ambleside's Directors of Instruction gather around the table with participants, reading and assimilating text and engaging the Ideas.
Ambleside Southern Africa, in partnership with member schools, trains and mentors parents, teachers, and persons interested in developing their understanding and practice of Charlotte Mason’s educational philosophy and practice through the Ambleside Method.
